Pandemic Party Time

What is there better to do when the world around you just doesn’t make any sense?  We are facing something right now that in our busied society, we are not sure what to do with.  And that is time at home.  My family educates at home so we are used to being with each other, but we are not used to just being at home.  We go on field trips, and with stay at home, or stay in place orders all across America, we are all having to get used to just being.  Being told to stay home raises all sorts of emotions, and it also creates so many new experiences.  New creativities are arising every day.  Here are some of the things that we have been enjoying about staying home:

  • Sidewalk obstacle course
  • Howl at the moon
  • Neighborhood dance parties
  • Zoom classes online
  • Creating Youtube videos
  • Free crafts from the local church
  • More dog walks
  • Card games and board games
  • Backyard campouts
  • Celebrity storytimes
  • Free online classes
  • Driveway social distancing visits
  • Movie “Theater” nights

With these fun activities in mind, we are looking forward to this all being over.  Here are what some friends of mine had to say about what they want to do with the stay at home orders cease:

Amanda Johnson I plan to go to Ikea. I need ideas to organize my daughter’s room as well as our future office/school/work out room.

Rachelle Phipps Hug people. It’s been so hard!

Briana Beers Get my hair cut. Send my kids to their grandparents’ house for a day. Hug my people. Loiter in a public place.

Todd Woodcock Have the grandparents take the kids for a night or a week 🤣

Sunny Emery Get food that I don’t have to make or clean up after.

Stephanie Menefee Spend time with friends

Comment below what it is that you look forward to doing when things get more back to normal!

  1. Nice list!! Our strategy, in addition to indoor activities, puzzles, games, etc is to use our backyard to its capacity. Outside toys, we bought a smallish pool, a projector for outside movies and of course our garden.

  2. Going to meet my soon to be born grandson, then bringing my 10 year old granddaughter back to Washington for the entire month of July.
