Daily Devotional

Devotional: Many things that are worth doing, or having are not going to be easy to do, or to get.  This does not mean that it is not worth it.  Most often, the things that are really worth having, or really worth doing, are very hard.  What this shows us is that we need to keep on trying, and working for the things that we want.  While working for something, try and learn all that you can in the process.  It may make it so that it will be easier the next time around.  Another reason to try and learn as you go through tough things is so that you can possibly help someone else through the same thing in the future.  Combine what you get in the end, what you learn in the process, and how you may be able to help someone else, and you have something worth doing.  If you are still wondering if you should keep trying at something that is hard, then pray about it.  Sometimes it is not meant for you.  But if it is something that God wants you to have, there is nothing that can stop you.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for the ability to pray to you for guidance.  Please help that when things become difficult, that we pray to You first, and that we listen for an answer.  Please help us to keep going with something worth doing becomes hard.  Please help us to learn from what we do, and that we will help others along the way.  We say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Inspiration: As I wrote the words of the devotional today, this thought came to me: “My failure does not define me, it teaches me.”  This is something that I hope to never forget.  There are so many hard times that I have gone through, and there are so many mistakes that I have made.  I try so hard to learn from these mistakes, but sometimes it is hard not to be discouraged.  This is when going to God, and scripture can be extremely helpful.  2 Corinthians 1:3-4 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
