I have done it! I have completed the 75 Hard Challenge, and now Phase 1. Phase 1 alone included over 30 gallons of water, over 300 pages of nonfiction read, over 2,700 minutes of exercise, over 150 minutes of cold showers, 300 minutes of dedicated visualization, less than 30 minutes of social media a day, and journaling or blogging daily. It felt like a part time job, but imagine a part time job where you take care of. . . yourself!
My favorite part of Phase 1 is the outdoor workouts. Finding time to do everything was the biggest struggle. There were days when I was just exhausted. Towards the end of the 30 days I began to feel it. I felt more energy. I felt like I could care for others better. I feel like I can’t wait until Phase 2. My least favorite part of the challenge was the cold showers. I hated them, but they made me stronger.
Even though losing weight is not the point of the challenge, I did loose a little. I lost two pounds, and 3 1/2 inches. What I gained was more important. I gained more self-confidence. I gained more self-discipline. More importantly, I gained the knowledge that I can always improve.
An example of gaining confidence is when my son challenged me to climb a rock wall at an event. I was scared that I would fail. But then I thought, I can do the 75 Hard, I can do this. And I did.
This blog post is mainly my own random thoughts on this part of the Live Hard Challenge, however, I would like to encourage you. You can do this. You can do anything. I always felt like I didn’t have enough time. Some days, I felt like I didn’t have enough energy. Phase 2 starts in 30 days. I found that I can make the time. I can find the energy. I can push through, and so can you!
